What is the structure of these NVQs?

To achieve a full award the candidate must achieve six mandatory units plus one optional unit, making a total of seven units. Three additional units are also available for candidates to achieve.

Mandatory Units

Unit 1 Contribute to effective working relationships
Unit 2 Maintaining the safety and the security of the load, self and property
Unit 3 Contribute to the provision of customer services
Unit 4 Complete pre-journey and post-journey procedures
Unit 5 Planning the route and timings for the delivery and collection of loads
Unit 6 Transport goods and materials

Optional Units

Unit 7 Handling goods and materials
Unit 8 Handling goods (Motorcycle and pedal cycle)

Additional Units

Unit 9 Dealing with payment transactions
Unit 10 Operate specialist plant and machinery to performance requirements (lifting and transferring)
Unit 11 Lift, transfer and position loads.
