Who is this NVQ for?
This NVQ is designed to reflect the work of candidates working within a distribution, warehousing and storage environment. The NVQ will be appropriate for candidates who are:
• Already competent in basic skills and require recognition for a wider range of abilities within the distribution, warehousing and storage sector
• Wishing to demonstrate competence gained previously in the sector or associated industries
• Progressing from a Level 1 NVQ in Distributive Operations.

What is the structure of these NVQs?
To achieve the NVQ, candidates must successfully complete a total of eight units. This is made up of two mandatory units and six optional units.
Mandatory Units
Candidates must achieve all of the following units:
Unit 1 Maintain health, safety and security in logistics operations (LOG1)
Unit 2 Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics operations (LOG4)
Optional Units
Candidates must achieve six of the following units:
Unit 3 Provide customers with information and advice on goods and services (WS7)
Unit 4 Operate equipment to perform work requirements (WS8)
Unit 5 Move goods in logistics facilities (WS9)
Unit 6 Receive goods from deliveries (WS10)
Unit 7 Place goods in storage (WS11)
Unit 8 Maintain the safety and quality of goods (WS12)
Unit 9 Maintain the safety of hazardous goods and materials (WS13)
Unit 10 Maintain hygiene standards in handling and storing goods (WS14)
Unit 11 Process orders for dispatch to customers (WS15)
Unit 12 Assemble orders for dispatch (WS16)
Unit 13 Dispatch goods for delivery (WS17)
Unit 14 Process returned goods (WS18)
Unit 15 Sort goods and materials for recycling (WS19)
Unit 16 Manage the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods (WS20)
Unit 17 Audit stock levels and stock records (WS21)
