Who are these NVQs for?

The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of individuals who are employed in providing a passenger transport service by road
This NVQ is intended to apply to similar occupational roles within a number of identified employment areas of the land passenger transport sector.

What is the structure of these NVQs?

To achieve a full Level 2 NVQ, candidates must achieve eight mandatory units.  There are two additional units available to candidates who have the opportunity to demonstrate competence in these areas.

Mandatory Units

Unit 1 Ensure the health and safety in your work environment in the road passenger transport industry
Unit 2 Drive community transport, chauffeured, taxi or private hire vehicles safely and efficiently
Unit 3 Provide professional customer service
Unit 4 Deal effectively with difficult passengers
Unit 5  Deal with emergencies and incidents during a journey
Unit 6 Provide a transport service in the community
Unit 8 Transport children and young person’s by taxi

Optional Units

Unit16 Transport parcels, luggage and other items
Unit 17 Plan routes in the road passenger transport industry
