HGV Part 3a Reverse Test Requirments:
Before you can take your HGV Part 3a (reversing) test, you must have gained the provisional entitlement for the HGV licence. This is done by completing the D2 and D4 forms and sending them off with your current driving licence to the DVLA, then completing the HGV theory tests.

How The HGV Part 3a Test Works
The HGV Part 3a off-road exercises will include:
- an ‘S’ shaped reverse into a bay
- showing the uncoupling and recoupling procedure if you’re taking a test with a trailer
Test result
After the test, your assessor or examiner will tell you if you’ve passed and explain how you did. If you fail, you can book another test straight away, but you cannot take it until the following day.

What To Take To Your Test
You must have your current driving licence and theory test pass certificates with you in order to take the training and test.
